                      Product Overview

                      The MAX1490AEPG+ is a complete electrically isolated RS485/RS422 data interface in 24 pin DIP package. It is a complete, electrically isolated, RS485/ RS422 data-communications interface solutions in a hybrid microcircuit. A single +5V supply on the logic side powers both sides of the interface. The driver slew rate is not limited and allow transmission rates up to 2.5Mbps. The driver is short circuit current limited and protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry that places the driver outputs into a high impedance state. The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that has high output if the input is open circuit. Typical applications include isolated RS485/RS422 data interface, transceivers for EMI-sensitive applications, industrial-control local area networks, automatic test equipment and HVAC/building control networks.

                      • Supply voltage range is 4.5V to 5.5V
                      • Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
                      • Full duplex communication
                      • Shutdown supply current is 0.2μA
                      • FS pin to select between high and low switching frequencies for the isolated power driver
                      • Switch frequency is 535KHz (VFS = 0V) and 725KHz (FS = VCC or open)
                      • Typically withstand 1600Vrms (1 minute) or 2000Vrms (1 second)
