Product Information
Product Overview
AD7946 is a 14bit, charge redistribution, successive approximation, analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that operates from a single 5V power supply, VDD. It contains a low power, high speed, 14bit sampling ADC with no missing codes, an internal conversion clock and a versatile serial interface port. The part also contains a low noise, wide bandwidth, short aperture delay track-and-hold circuit. On the CNV rising edge, it samples an analog input IN+ between 0V to REF with respect to a ground sense IN-. The reference voltage, REF, is applied externally and can be set up to the supply voltage. Typical applications include battery-powered equipment, data acquisition, instrumentation, medical instruments and process controls.
- 14bit resolution with no missing codes
- Throughput: 500KSPS, INL: ±0.4LSB typ, ±1LSB max (±0.0061% of FSR)
- SINAD: 85dB at 20KHz, THD: -100dB at 20KHz and SNR: 85dB at 20KHz
- Pseudo differential analog input range: 0V to VREF with VREF up to VDD
- Single-supply 5V operation with 1.8V/2.5V/3V/5V logic interface and standby current: 1nA
- Proprietary serial interface SPI-/QSPI™-/MICROWIRE™-/DSP-compatible
- Daisy-chaining for multiple ADCs and busy indicator, no pipeline delay
- Power dissipation: 3.3mW at 5V/100KSPS and 3.3µW at 5V/100SPS
- Pin-for-pin compatible with the 16bit AD7686
- 10 lead MSOP package, operating temperature range from -40 to 85°C
