ADE7978ACPZ-RL

ADE7978 is an isolated energy metering chipset for polyphase shunt meters. It is a high accuracy, 3-phase electrical energy measurement IC with serial interfaces and three flexible pulse outputs. It can interface with upto four ADE7933/ ADE7932 and ADE7923 devices. It incorporates all the signal processing required to perform total (fundamental and harmonic) active, reactive, and apparent energy measurement and rms calculations, as well as fundamental-only active and reactive energy measurement and rms calculations. It is approved by UL recognition, 5000V rms for 1 minute per UL 1577, CSA Component Acceptance Notice 5A, IEC 61010-1: 300 V rms maximum working voltage, VDE certificate of conformity, DIN V VDE V 0884-10 (VDE V 0884-10):2006-12, VIORM = 846V peak. It is used in application such as shunt-based polyphase meters, power quality monitoring, solar inverters, process monitoring, protective devices, isolated sensor interfaces, industrial PLCs etc.

• Enables shunt current sensors in polyphase energy meters
• Immune to magnetic tampering
• Power quality measurements including total harmonic distortion (THD)
• Compatible with 3-phase, 3- or 4-wire (delta or wye) meters and other 3-phase services
• Total active energy is 0.2% typ at (VDD = 3.3V ± 10%)
• Current (I) rms measurement error is 0.25% typ at (over a dynamic range of 500 to 1)
• Flexible I²C, SPI, and HSDC serial interfaces
• Signal-to-noise ratio is 67dB typ at (VDD = 3.3V ± 10%)
• Supply current is 10.6mA typ at (VDD = 3.3V ± 10%)
• Operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C, package style is 28-lead LFCSP
