                      Product Overview

                      AFBR-S50MV68B is a Broadcom® Time-of-Flight sensor module for distance and motion measurement based on the optical Time-of-Flight principle. The technology has been developed with a special focus on applications with the need for the highest speed and accuracy at medium distance ranges, with small size and very low power consumption. Due to its ambient light suppression, use in outside environments is possible in sunlight. The sensor accurately measures against white, black, and colored surfaces as well as metallic and retroreflective surfaces. The module has an integrated infrared laser light source and an internal clock source. For system health monitoring, a reference pixel is used in addition to the integrated voltage and temperature sensors. Applications include distance measurement, human-machine interfaces, robotics, automation and control, inventory monitoring, and light barrier.

                      • Very fast measurement rates of up to 3kHz, operation up to 100klx
                      • Integrated calibrated clock source, accuracy error typically below ±1%
                      • Unambiguous range up to 100m in 2f mode, reference pixel for system health monitoring
                      • Laser Class 1 eye safe ready
                      • Single voltage supply of 5V, typical current consumption of 33mA
                      • Integrated 680nm red laser source, receiver with 32 pixels
                      • Field-of-view per pixel of 1.55° × 1.55°, distance range up to 10m and beyond
                      • Transmitter beam width of 0.4° × 0.4° to illuminate typically 1 pixel
                      • Typical optical peak output power of 20mW, typical optical average output power <lt/>0.35mW
                      • Size without pins L × W × H is 12.4 × 7.6 × 7.9mm, -20 to 70°C ambient operation temperature range
