AL-CAT5EW is a weatherproof 10/100 Base-T CAT5e lightning surge protector provides superior lightning and surge protection with improved frequency response for both indoor and outdoor 10/100 Base-T networks. The unit meets or exceeds CAT5e performance for the two data pairs. The design uses high frequency transmission line layout techniques to maintain an optimum 100 ohms balanced impedance in the signal path. These techniques and the use of ultra-Low capacitance protection arrays provide superior high frequency response and improved return loss for the data pairs. In addition, the unit is compatible with 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices. Integral to the design is protection for the two Ethernet data pairs and the PoE DC power feed. This unit supports normal and reverse polarity PoE. Typical applications are 10/100 Base-T Ethernet equipment, wireless access points and bridges, wireless client adapters, IP cameras.
