Raspberry Pi prototypers can now make durable connections using Adafruit's new kits at Newark

Adafruit's Perma-Proto for Pi Breadboard PCB Kits are 100% compatible with Pi Cobbler

CHICAGO- March 22, 2013 Making permanent connections is as easy as pie for fans of the credit-card size computer sensation known as Raspberry Pi. Available in full, half and quarter sizes at leading electronics distributor Newark, Adafruit's Perma-Proto for Pi Breadboard PCB kits feature the same labelled breakouts as their Pi Cobbler, assuring a seamless transition.

The boards also offer the same familiar 5-hole pad design that matches a classic breadboard, with 4 power bus lines on the sides, and no masks, which makes fast work of cutting traces. 1.2mm diameter drill holes were used so that even parts with big leads will fit. All holes are thru-plated for strength and the gold plat finish prevents oxidation.

"Customers have been asking us to carry basic per-board, but typically the quality is poor, with pads that flake off and no labelling,"comments Limor Fried, aka Lady Ada, founder of Adafruit Industries. "People usually start with a solderless breadboard and then transfer parts to a more permanent PCB. We realized we simply needed to make that process easier and more durable."
