Product Information
Product Overview
AD7984 is an 18bit, successive approximation, analog-to-digital converter(ADC) that operates from a single power supply. It contains a low power, high speed, 18bit sampling ADC and a versatile serial interface port. On the CNV rising edge, the AD7984 samples the voltage difference between the IN+ and IN- pins. The voltages on these pins usually swing in opposite phases between 0V and VREF. The reference voltage, REF, is applied externally and can be set independent of the supply voltage, VDD. Typical application includes automated test equipment, data acquisition systems, medical instruments and machine automation.
- True differential analog input range: ±VREF, 0V to VREF with VREF between 2.9V to 5V
- Easy to drive with the ADA4941
- Throughput: 1.33MSPS, zero latency architecture and 18bit resolution with no missing codes
- INL: ±2.25LSB maximum and dynamic range: 99.7dB, VREF = 5V
- SNR: 98.5dB at fIN = 1KHz, VREF = 5V and THD: −110.5dB at fIN = 1KHz, VREF = 5V
- Single-supply 2.5V with 1.8/2.5/3/5V logic interface, power dissipation: 10.5mW at 1.33MSPS (total)
- Proprietary serial interface SPI-/QSPI™-/MICROWIRE™-/DSP-compatible
- Ability to daisy-chain multiple ADCs and busy indicator
- 10 lead MSOP package
- Operating temperature range from -40 to 85°C
