MAX190BCNG+

The MAX190BCNG+ is a low power 12bit sampling analogue to digital converter (ADC) with internal reference and power-down mode in 24 pin DIP package. This monolithic, CMOS ADC has differential inputs, track/hold, internal voltage reference, internal or external clock and parallel or serial microprocessor interface. This ADC operates with either an external reference or an internal reference that features an adjustment input for trimming system gain errors. The MAX190 operates from single +5V supply and has logic power-down input which reduces 3mA VDD supply current to 50μA maximum including internal reference current. It provides three interface modes including two 8bit parallel modes and serial interface mode that is compatible with SPI, QSPI and Microwire serial interface standards. The device is typically used in battery powered data logging, PC pen digitizers, electromechanical systems, data acquisition boards for PC's, automatic testing systems, telecommunications and DSP.

• 4.75V to 5.25V positive supply voltage and 3mA positive supply current (active low PD = high/float)
• Operating temperature range from 0°C to 70°C
• 1/2LSB linearity, 5μs acquisition time and 76Ksps sampling rate
• Internal reference with adjustment capability
• Low power, 3mA operating mode and 20μA power-down mode
• ±1LSB integral nonlinearity and ±1LSB differential nonlinearity (no missing codes over temperature)
• Offset error of ±2LSB and gain error of ±3LSB
• Maximum conversion time of 7.81μs (synchronous clock) and 18μs (internal clock, CL = 120pF)
• Small signal bandwidth of 2MHz and positive supply rejection of ±1/2LSB
• Decoupling capacitors are only external components needed for power supply and reference
