They are suggested in the reference design of leading IC manufacturers like ON Semiconductor for their NCP1606B and MC33262 devices. Typical applications for WE-PFC chokes are in AC/DC power supplies with active PFC often found in the lighting industry.Our coils from Coilcraft were developed specifically for use with the ON Semiconductor NCP1653 Power Factor Controller (PFC) for driving continuous conduction mode step-up pre-converters.
