The Grove system is a standardised modular prototyping platform designed to make assembling electronics projects easier and includes hundreds of different modules including sensor, actuator, communication and display functionality - more than enough to broaden the micro:bit's abilities for IoT projects. The Grove Inventor Kit includes the Grove Shield, 7 specially selected Grove modules and all the necessary connection cables to get started.
