Product Overview

L298N is a dual full-bridge driver. It is an integrated monolithic circuit. It is a high-voltage, high-current dual full-bridge driver designed to accept standard TTL logic levels and drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, DC and stepping motors. Two enable inputs are provided to enable or disable the device independently of the input signals. The emitters of the lower transistors of each bridge are connected together and the corresponding external terminal can be used for the connection of an external sensing resistor. An additional supply input is provided so that the logic works at a lower voltage. It is used in applications such as dual brush DC motors, stepper motors.

  • Logic supply voltage range from 4.5V to 7V, operating supply voltage up to 46V
  • Quiescent supply current is 13mA typical at (VS = 42V; VSS = 5V, Tj = 25°C)
  • High voltage enable current is 30μA typical at (Ven = H ≤ VSS–0.6V, VS = 42V; VSS = 5V, Tj = 25°C)
  • Source saturation voltage is 1.35V typical at (IL = 1A, VS = 42V; VSS = 5V, Tj = 25°C)
  • Sink saturation voltage is 1.2V typical at (IL= 1A, VS = 42V; VSS = 5V, Tj = 25°C)
  • Commutation frequency is 25KHz typical at (IL = 2A, VS = 42V; VSS = 5V, Tj = 25°C)
  • Source current turn-off delay is 1.5μs typical at (VS = 42V; VSS = 5V, Tj = 25°C)
  • Junction operating temperature range from -25°C to 130°C, multiwatt15L V package
