MAX13089EESD+T

MAX13089EESD+T is a +5.0V, ±15kV ESD-protected, RS-485/RS-422 transceiver that features one driver and one receiver. This device includes fail-safe circuitry, guaranteeing a logic-high receiver output when receiver inputs are open or shorted. The receiver outputs a logic high if all transmitters on a terminated bus are disabled (high impedance). It is used in applications such as utility meters, lighting systems, industrial control, telecom, security systems, instrumentation, and profibus.

• True fail-safe receiver while maintaining EIA/TIA-485 compatibility
• Hot-swap input structures on DE and active-low RE
• Enhanced slew-rate limiting facilitates error free data transmission
• Phase controls to correct for twisted-pair reversal
• Allow up to 256 transceivers on the bus, VCC supply-voltage range from 4.5V to 5.5V
• Input hysteresis is 100mV typical at (VCC = +5.0V ±10%)
• Supply current is 1.2mA typical at (no load, RE = 0, DE = VCC)
• Supply current in shutdown mode is 2.8µA typical at (RE = VCC, DE = GND)
• Operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, 14-pin SO package
