PCA9535CHF,118 is a 16bit I²C-bus and SMBus, low power I/O port with interrupt, 24-pin CMOS device. It provided 16 bits of general-purpose parallel input/output (GPIO) expansion for I²C-bus/SMBus applications and was developed to enhance the NXP Semiconductors family of I²C-bus I/O expanders. Improvements include higher drive capability, 5V I/O tolerance, lower supply current, individual I/O configuration, and smaller packaging. I/O expanders provide a simple solution when additional I/O is needed for ACPI power switches, sensors, push buttons, LEDs, fans, etc. It consists of two 8bit configurations (I/P or O/P selection), input, output, and Polarity inversion registers. Data for each input or output is kept in corresponding input or output register. The polarity of the read register can be inverted with the Polarity inversion register. It is identical to the PCA9555 except for removal of internal I/O pull-up resistor which greatly reduces power consumption when I/Os are held LOW.

- Latch-up testing is done to JEDEC Standard JESD78 which exceeds 100mA
- Supply voltage range from 2.3 to 5.5V (VSS = 0V, Tamb = -40°C to +85°C)
- Standby current is 0.25µA typ (standby mode, VDD = 5.5V, no load, VI=VSS; fSCL = 0KHz, I/O = input)
- Power-on reset voltage is 1.7V typ (no load; VI = VDD or VSS, Tamb = -40°C to +85°C)
- HWQFN24 package, ambient temperature range from -40°C to +85°C
